Exhibition sensitizes public on VAT system

The Vincentian public is now more sensitized on Value added Tax (VAT) and its implications. This was made possible through a weeklong exhibition put on by the VAT unit under the building that once housed telecommunications company, AT&T.

Consultant Manager of the Unit, Alma Dougan said that they have been having public discussions throughout the length and breadth of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Dougan said they took the decision to hold the exhibition during the heightened Carnival season because many people come into Kingstown at this time. “We wanted to have the public fully involved because we knew that many people occupy Kingstown around carnival time,” remarked Dougan.
