Caribbean Postal Union to hold conference in SVG

St. Vincent and the Grenadines Postal Corporation (SVG Post) and the Office of the Prime Minister, the parent Ministry for Postal Services, will be host to the 10th Annual Caribbean Postal Union (CPU) Conference here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from June 12 to 16.

The conference will be held at the Methodist Church Hall, Kingstown.{{more}}

The Conference will consist of a meeting of Postmasters General/Directors of Post followed by a meeting of Ministers responsible for Postal Services in the region. The conference is expected to attract Postmasters General/Directors of Post and Ministers from CPU member countries of Anguilla, Antigua/Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, St. Kitts/Nevis, St. Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos and the British Virgin Islands.

Representatives from the Universal Postal Union International Bureau, the Postal Administrations of France, Great Britain, Canada and the United States of America will also be attending the Conference. Observers are also expected from CARICOM, the Caribbean Customs Law Enforcement Agency, the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police, regional Labour Unions, regional airlines and suppliers of postal products.

The meeting of the PMGs/Directors of Post will address technical and operational issues with regard to the implementation of postal service transformation. The meeting of Ministers will address strategic issues and decide on proposals, submitted by the meeting of the PMGs.
