Kingstown Multi-purpose Centre to open soon

Students pursuing a vocational education in the upcoming school year will have the opportunity to study at the soon to be completed Kingstown Multi-purpose Centre.

A team from the Ministry of Education, led by Girlyn Miguel, visited the Centre at the Bishop’s College compound last week. Minister Miguel said that the Ministry is very serious about universal secondary education.{{more}} She urged the students who will be attending classes at the Centre to do their best as the Ministry is doing its best to make them happy.

Permanent Secretary Laura Browne said that in spite of difficulties experienced during construction, the building should be ready by September. She also said that the institution is very user friendly with ample space for the students.

The Multi-purpose Centre will be offering programmes in Electrical, Woodwork, Computer, Clothing and Textile, Food Preparation and Home Management.

There will be no Auto Mechanic programmes at the new Center as the Technical College in Arnos Vale already offers this course.
