Sandy Bay woman hits Lotto jackpot

History was made last Friday, April 28, 2006, when Sellin Henry was the first person north of the dry river to win the National Lotteries Authority Lotto.

Henry, who hails from the village of London in Sandy Bay, won a whopping EC$245,000. A jovial Henry said that she was at home sitting in front of the television when the winning numbers were called.{{more}}

“I was there sitting and I heard my numbers called and I realised I had won. I started saying, yes, yes and everyone ran out their bedroom and I could not go back to sleep,” said the $245,000 winner.

Henry told SEARCHLIGHT that the money came in very handy, as she will continue to build her unfinished house and save the rest of her earnings for her six-year-old son’s education.

Henry’s winning numbers were 18, 20, 32, 10, 12 and the winning ticket was bought at Ferdie’s Footstep Restaurant and Bar in Georgetown.
