It is claimed that Whitfield/Harry was returning from Ottawa with relatives and friends when they stopped at the nightclub.

It is reported that two Haitians were involved in a brawl when a bullet struck the father of four sons, aged 10, 8, 4 and 2, in his chest.

He was rushed to the Montreal General Hospital where he succumbed to his injury shortly after 5 am.

Whitfield/Carr is said to have arrived at the hospital in a conscious state but died during an operation to remove the bullet. Sources said just before he went into surgery, he gave the hospital his wife’s contact numbers.

His funeral service took place at the West Mount Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was interred at the Cote-des-neiges cemetery.

Meanwhile, a Vincentian who was shot in the face at the same club a few months ago is said to be in critical need of surgery to remove the bullet fragments from his face.
