PM meets Vincies in High Wycombe

Vincentians living in the United Kingdom were brought up to date on the national development activities of the Unity Labour Party government.

Last Saturday, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, briefed over 400 Vincentians on the progress of the economic development of the country, at a meeting at the High Wycombe Town Hall.{{more}}

Prime Minister Gonsalves spoke about a number of projects, including the international airport at Argyle, the Cross Country road, the Education Revolution and plans to build a diagnostic health centre in the Georgetown area.

He fielded a number of questions from the audience on a wide range of issues, in particular, matters related to the international airport.

The Prime Minister was welcomed to High Wycombe by Councillor David Cox, Deputy Leader of the Wycombe District Council. A minute’s silence was held in memory of the late Glenn I Jackson.

This week Prime Minister Gonsalves and the Director General of Finance, Maurice Edwards, met with officials of the Italian agency, SACE, in relation to the debt for the Ottley Hall project.

He also met with officials from the British Government to discuss relations between both countries.

Prime Minister Gonsalves will attend two meetings in Antigua, one related to LIAT and the other an OECS caucus, before returning to the state tomorrow.
