Financial boost for Liberty Lodge group

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Toronto, a non-profit community based Association comprised mainly of Vincentians in the Greater Toronto Area, on Thursday, March 16, 2006 handed over a cheque in the amount of CDN$700.00 to the Liberty Lodge Boys Training Centre.

The Association, formed in 1969, is committed to providing assistance and support to groups or institutions in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ontario and wherever the Association deems fit. Over the years the Association has supported several causes both on mainland St. Vincent and also in the Grenadine islands.{{more}}

This recent donation was handed over by Gideon Exeter, a former president of the Association who was in his homeland on holiday to Othniel Browne, Assistant Director of the Centre. The money is in keeping with the Association’s objective and goes towards the Young Leaders Programme.

Browne expressed appreciation for the donation and said that the funds will go towards the installation of billboards in the various constituencies of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Liberty Lodge Young Leaders launched their programme on Monday 27, 2006 and unveiled one of the billboards which read; “WANTED! Good Role Models for Children Everywhere.”
