“EXPECT MORE, GET MORE” is the new slogan for Caribbean Mobile Telecom powerhouse, Digicel.

This announcement came during a brief press conference last Monday at their main office in Kingstown.

Public Relations Manager, Digicel OECS, Jerry George expressed the view that the slogan says a whole lot on the company’s behalf. He said it is a change whereby customers can expect more of the quality service and products that Digicel has to offer throughout the Caribbean.{{more}}

Country Manager of Digicel, Martin Bollers said that he is very excited to see where the company is headed and this means expansion of the mobile service throughout the region. However, he noted that the slogan for the sponsorship of the West Indies Cricket team remains the same.

With operations in 15 countries, covering a population of 14 million people, Digicel ended the year 2005 with the company’s total investment in the region amounting to US$1 billion.

Customers throughout the region can soon look forward to a broadband service called ‘WIMAX’. So far the product has only been launched in the Cayman Islands.

Digicel also said that they expect to launch services in Trinidad and Haiti very soon. Also, the company has managed to raise US$300 million in one of the most successful bond offerings of the year. The deal led by Citigroup and JP Morgan was oversubscribed and attracted more than US$3 billion in orders. Some of the proceeds from the offering will be used to finance the company’s major expansion plans.
