New equipment at Golden Years

The Golden Years Activities Centre of Canegrove is now better equipped to provide entertainment to its patrons.

A DVD Player and Television set were donated to the Centre last Thursday at the offices of the Ministry of Social Development by Father Rennyson Howell on behalf of his mother, Isola Williams Woodley, a Vincentian national residing in the United States of America.{{more}}

Williams donated the entertainment systems as part of her commitment to the Centre.

The centre, which has been in existence since February of last year, is caters to senior citizens 55 years and older. They are involved in a number of activities including, gardening, craft, physical exercises.

Chairman of the Golden Years Trust, Jillian John said that she is very appreciative of the donations and that anything that can be done to help senior citizens is always greatly appreciated.

Minister of Social Development, Mike Browne said that he is quite happy to see that Vincentian Nationals abroad are still very much involved in projects in their home country.
