Adams publishes new book

Prolific local writer, Dr. Edgar Adams, has published another book. His latest effort, titled “Historic Kingstown” is a pocket guide to the places of interest in and around the city.

The 24-page full colour booklet gives historical sketches and descriptions with photographs of twenty three of our city’s landmarks, with one page dedicated to a single site.{{more}}

The book is ideally suited for visitors taking a walking tour of Kingstown, tour guides, or for anyone wishing to brush up on the history of our city.

The first page features a numbered street map of the town which allows for easy cross-referencing with the sites described in the booklet.

As might be expected, the booklet includes historic sites like the Police Headquarters, the St. George’s Cathedral and the Court House. More modern structures which stand out in our town, like the Financial Complex and the Ministerial Building are included for completeness.

The booklet, which may be obtained from R&M Adams Book Centre, is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Ian Earle Ayrton

Kirby, a close friend of the author.
