More educational opportunities are being offered to Vincentian students wishing to further their education.

In an interview with Press Secretary Glen Jackson, Sekhar said that his decision to assist St. Vincent in the area of education, stemmed from a conversation that he had with Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves while attending a private function in the United States of America.

He said that Dr. Gonsalves sounded so passionate about his plans for the development of this country and its people that he was inspired to assist. He said successful applicants would be required to work in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for six years after completing their studies.

Sekhar said that the contribution to the scholarships had no limit and would cover the required expenses of the universities. He said the scholarships would be geared at students who possess the ability to pursue a tertiary education but not the financial means.
