Madame Chu pledges Taiwan help for SVG

Taiwanese Resident Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Elizabeth Chu has extended her gratitude to SVG for bringing “Taiwan’s voice” to the world.

Addressing a gala to commemorate the 94th National Day of the Republic of China on Monday evening at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown, Ambassador Chu said she wanted to recognise the courage of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for speaking in support of Taiwan at international fora.{{more}}

The Ambassador said Taiwan would pledge every effort to assist SVG in its development. Madame Chu said that the two countries have created very strong bonds that should not be broken.

She said that President Chen Shui-Bian was deeply touched by the warmth of the Vincentian public when he made his historic visit on September 28.

Chu thanked the government and the people of this country for their generosity and hospitality to President Chen and his delegation.Taiwan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines established diplomatic relations on August 15, 1981.
