Cruise ships calling on SVG

Stakeholders in the tourism sector gathered this Wednesday, October 5, to discuss plans for the upcoming tourist season.

The meeting sought primarily to discuss the upcoming cruise season which begins in earnest on Wednesday, October 12, with the arrival of the first ship for the 2005/2006 cruise season, the “Sun Princess”. {{more}}

Wednesday’s meeting with the Ministry and its partners in the sector addressed several issues pertaining to the upcoming season including health, beautification, transportation, sites and attractions.

The provisional cruise ship call list indicates that there will be an increase in the number of calls to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the upcoming season, with the destination preparing to welcome at least two new cruise lines, “Easy Cruise” which will make weekly calls and the ”Queen Mary II”, which is expected to call at Port Kingstown on December 28, 2005.
