50 years for Biabou Methodist School

The Biabou Methodist School is celebrating 50 years in its present location. The primary school opened on January 10, 1955 in the centre of Biabou, with Esau W. Ballah as the first headmaster.

The school was built jointly by the Methodists and the Government, and from 1955 to 1973 the school building also served as a Church for Methodists in the area until the present Church was built in 1973. {{more}}

In commemoration of the school’s anniversary, a number of events have been planned. These include the distribution of school supplies which was done on September 5, 2005, a Church Service to be held on October 30, 2005 and an Awards Dinner to be held on December 3, 2005. A name plate will be erected at the school on December 16th when the beautification project will also commence.

The celebration will culminate on January 10, 2006 with a cultural showcase at the school. The members of the planning committee are calling on past students of the school in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Diaspora to make contributions.
