Meanwhile, Prime Minister Gonsalves told SEARCHLIGHT, Balcombe’s promise that he would lose his deposit does not merit a response. He added that when Balcombe himself has to try to win his deposit he would gain reason.

Dr. Gonsalves said that, in relation to the claims that he would take up where Maurice Bishop left off, he, at a political rally had pointed out he would continue the nationalist tradition of Caribbean icons such as Milton Cato, Ebenezer Joshua, Michael Manley, Rosie Douglas, Tim Hector, George Odlum and Maurice Bishop.

The Prime Minister said that his critics’ views of politics were limited.
