Rush hour crash at Arnos Vale

Rush hour traffic was forced to a standstill last Thursday, April 21, around 8:15 a.m. along the Arnos Vale public road stretch, following a two vehicle smashup.

A Toyota Hiace omnibus H 1844, driven by St. Claire Baptiste of Sandy Bay collided with a Mercedes Benz car P7701 driven by schoolteacher Deborah Thomas of Arnos Vale, then smashed through a concrete wall on the left side of the roadway.{{more}}

The bus was at the time travelling south heading out to Georgetown when it impacted car, which was making its way out toward the main road from at the corner of the Rent and Drive Auto Parts Shop.

The bus then careened off the road through the wall where it came to a halt a mangled wreck. Five persons who were onboard the omnibus sustained extensive injuries to their bodies and were taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

Luckily there were no fatalities.
