Students receive FCCA prize

Two students who participated in the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Foundation 2004 Children’s Essay Contest have collected a cheque of US $200 for their efforts. {{more}}

The two students are Vakeesha John of the Layou Government School and Cheyenne Samuel a former student of the Georgetown Primary School who currently attends the St. Vincent Girls’ High School.

The contest was conducted in two age categories, the Junior Division, ages 12 and under and Senior Division, ages 13 to 16 years, in which participants were required to write essays on the topic “How Has the Cruise Industry and/or Cruise Passengers Impacted my Country”.

Cash prizes were awarded to students in the top three positions in each category while all finalists were given US $200 for their efforts.
