Leo Club Reading Finals on tomorrow

The Leo Club St. Vincent holds its annual Primary School’s Reading Competition tomorrow, November 13, 2004, at the Red Cross building from 3 p.m. The Leo Club says the competition, which is in its seventh year, is open to all primary schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}

Preliminary judging began on October 18, 2004, where the club saw great participation from most schools. Judging took place in ten zones, covering the Leeward, Windward, Central and Grenadine schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The schools taking part in tomorrow’s finals are: the Georgetown Government, New Grounds Primary, Biabou Methodist, Evesham Methodist, Stubbs Government, St. Mary’s Roman Catholic, Windsor Primary, Barrouallie Government, Spring Village Government and Paget Farm Government schools.

The Leo Club St. Vincent says it initiated this competition to promote and foster good reading habits among our youth. This, the Leos wrote in a release, is one of the club’s “major annual undertakings” and has, for another year, received full sponsorship from the General Employee’s Credit Union (GECCU).
