Sylvester concerned about violence

The local Human Rights Association has condemned the recent spate of violence here. Newly elected president of the Association, Nicole Sylvester, in a release says the organisation is “particularly concerned and troubled by the fact that many of these crimes involve our youths”.{{more}}

She said, “The time has come for all social agencies, educational institutions, church organisations, Christian councils, youth organisations, parent/teachers’ associations, the media, persons from all strata of society to come together in an attempt to find a solution to this problem.”

The Association says it is willing to facilitate the process of finding a solution to the problem of violence and has made a call for “interested organisations” to contact the SVG Human Rights office.
