Exeter’s remains were discovered by around 4.30 p.m. by construction workers currently working on the Centre of Emergency Operation Building (originally The Housing and Land Development Building) which is located next to the bridge.
A number of persons flocked to the area to get a view of Exeter’s body, which lay in a relaxed position on a ledge under the bridge. Persons said that the ledge may have been a makeshift home for the man who formerly resided at Cemetery Hill. Police do not suspect foul play but a post mortem was expected to be carried out last Thursday. Exeter was a known character in Kingstown who established himself as one of the more colourful figures in the early seventies.
