Body building president pleased

After the adoption of the local Amateur BodyBuilding Power Lifting and Fitness Federation constitution, focus will be on the Central American and Caribbean Championships carded for Guyana September 29 to October 3 for which a six-member team is expected to be named. {{more}}
And next year from July 22 to 24, SVG will be the focus of attention as the Eastern Caribbean Bodybuilding Fitness and Body Fitness Championship is carded for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
But memories of last Saturday’s Body Building and Body Fitness Championship will be etched on everyone’s mind.
The spectators enjoyed the action, especially the pose down between the athletes in the different categories.
No one could begrudge Garvin Philips as he posed his way to the heavyweight title on his way winning to the Overall category.
Phillips out-massed Edmond Stephens and Vibert Williams in the heavyweight section. In the showdown with Godfrey Thomas, the MiddleWeight category winner, Phillips again took the judges nod.
Thomas beat Caswell Dorsette, Desmond Shallow and Glendon Charles in the Middleweight Division.
Edward Layne took the Lightweight category beating Dwight John, Jeffrey Haywood, and Joel Frederick.
The Novice category had two participants: Joel Frederick and Glendon Charles, with Frederick securing the title.
There was one female participant in Stacy Patterson.
In the Body Fitness section: Chelliste Rogers beat Mindy John and Rachel Davis.
There was also an Aerobics Display put on by the Silvers Gym, and the presentation by some primary school students also ensured that the future of Bodybuilding is well assured.
Korean Williams, President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Amateur Bodybuilding Power Lifting and Fitness Federation expressed satisfaction with the staging of last Saturday’s event and with the attendance. Williams also expressed pleasure with the participation of the Power Zone Gym from Mustique.
