Soca Swing is into its 6th year and marks the station’s annual switch to an all-soca and calypso format, aimed at promoting and developing Vincy Carnival, the nation’s premiere cultural festival. Soca Swing runs from June to the end of Carnival.
The Launch, a show that some heralded as the Pre- Soca Monarch show, had its third installment on May 30, and received corporate support from Bottlers St. Vincent Ltd. and the Carnival Development Corporation.
Hitz FM says the station family was overwhelmed by the public’s response to the show, which they say proves that the Vincentian soca product is at an international standard, and can be marketed and presented successfully.
The station has thanked Vincentian soca fans for supporting the artistes, and is encouraging all to make the festival one of More Fun, More Flair, and More Fantasy.
