Hurricane season could trigger crisis

PORT-AU-PRINCE (AFP) —

Caribbean hurricane season could trigger a new humanitarian crisis in Haiti, where, along with neighboring Dominican Republic, more than 1,400 have died in floods and mudslides, an official said. {{more}}
Dozens more bodies were discovered Monday in the eastern town of Fonds-Verrettes, bringing Haiti’s death toll to 1,068.
With little hope of finding more survivors, officials in the multinational force, tasked with providing security here, warned that the start of the hurricane season Tuesday will bring more heavy rains that could worsen an already-grim humanitarian crisis.
