OECS private sector getting organized

A meeting of the OECS private sector held in Grenada has agreed to the formation of an OECS Private Sector Organization.
And a four-person Steering Committee has been named for this purpose comprised of Michael Astaphan of Dominica (chairman), Guy Mayers of St. Lucia, Christopher De Riggs of Grenada and Tapley Seaton Q. C. of St. Kitts and Nevis.{{more}}
The Committee was given the task of (i) achieving consensus on the functions and format for the Organization, (ii) clarifying its relationship with the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC), and (iii) structuring its financing mechanisms.
Draft constituent documents for the proposed OECS Private Sector Organization have been prepared for circulation to national private sector entities and the establishment of a business forum pursuant to a recommendation made to the OECS Heads of Government.
