Carnival warms up in East St. George

Carnival in East St. George kicks off from Friday, May 21, with the official opening ceremony organised in conjunction with the Carnival Development Corporation and the Calliaqua Culture Pot Committee. This show begins at 9.30.{{more}}
Following the customary addresses by officials, the eight Queen Show contestants and the Beautex International Mas band, make appearances
Activities continue June 11, with the Calypso Monarch and Queen Show at the Marcomay Club. The action will continue with J’ouvert
celebrations the following morning through the streets of Calliaqua.
Those streets will still be filled with activity as a Street Jump Up takes centerstage on Sunday followed by a Carnival Blow Out.
Kenny G A Sylvester of the East St. George Carnival Committee says eight young ladies are expected to take part in this year’s queen show while six calypsonians will compete for area supremacy in the calypso competition.
