Problem Child takes 2017 Road March

The hit tune ‘Never Bow’ is the road march for Vincy Mas 2017.

The popular soca song, also known as ‘Neither Me,’ was performed by veteran soca aritse Shertz ‘Problem Child’ James on the Zaboca Riddim.

With its hook: “Never do wrong ting fuh mek money; neither me…,” the tune caught on like wild fire and became the most played and requested song on the road for the Vincy Mas 2017.

‘Never Bow’ scored 68 points with the judges.

James, a prolific song writer who lives in the United States, previously won the road march title in 2007 and 2009 with hits ‘Party Animal’ and ‘Madd House’ respectively.

In 2015, James, also known as Johnny Fontaine, bowed out of the Ragga and Soca monarch competitions, saying after competing for seven years it was no longer fun for him.

This year, James launched a Carnival “Doh Kill the Vibe” campaign aimed at promoting positivity and love throughout the season. He said while he was not competing in the Ragga and Soca monarch competitions, he was not excluding himself from being in contention for the road march.

Other songs released by James for the 2017 Carnival season include “Doh Kill the Vibe” and “Leg Up Dey.”

Delroy ‘Fireman’ Hooper with ‘Wild’ was second with 45 points, while in third place for the 2017 road march was Shane ‘Hypa 4000’ Husbands with Riddim Section, which got 37 points from the judges.
