The finals of the highly anticipated event are scheduled to take place at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad on February 8.

Nedd, who is also this country’s Calypso Monarch and Road March champion, earned the judges nod for a spot in the finals with her rendition “Rum Please”.

“Rum Please”, was the song that won last year’s Road March and also allowed Nedd the second place in the local Soca Monarch competition, which was won by Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle.

Doyle also competed in the semifinals, but was unable to go further.

Meanwhile, the Carnival Development Corporation in a press release extended congratulations to Nedd on her achievement.

“The CDC takes this opportunity to wish her the very best of luck in the staging of her performance.”

The full list of finalists are: Super Blue, Destra Garcia, Devon Matthews, Shurwayne Winchester, Benjai, Fya Empress, Swappi, Tallpree, JW & Blaze and Lil Bits.
