Victors One, Police Two win in national cricket championships

VICTORS ONE, the 2018 National Lotteries Authority premier division one champions and Police Two, both advanced to the semi-finals of the inaugural national cricket championships, with wins over their first division rivals, last Sunday.

Showing their batting prowess, Victors One amassed 305 for 8 from their 50 overs against Edward Conliffe Belfongo, at Arnos Vale One.

Atticus Browne, who scored 54, Donwell Hector, 52, Tilron Harry, 43, Miles Bascombe, 42 and Chrisroy John, 32, all revelled in the friendly bowling.

Meshack Williams took 2 for 47 and Oswald Soleyn had 2 for 72, bowling for Belfongo, who in reply fell for 48.

Alston Bobb was the pick of Victors One’s bowling, taking 5 for 20 and Solomon Bascombe got 2 for 10.

At Sion Hill, Police Two swished E & J Robertson North Windward Youths by 173 runs.

Police Two posted 275 all out, led by Desron Maloney with 73, Kevin Abraham, 39 and Rickford Walker, 34.

Bowling for North Windward Youths, Denson Hoyte had 3 for 53, Kinson Dalzell, 2 for 23 and Stradford Ballantyne, 2 for 59.

North Windward Youths were dismissed for 102, with Venkat Baptiste topscoring with 23.

Sylvan Spencer snared 4 for 10 and Kenneth Dember, 2 for 15, to ensure that North Windward Youths’ batting did not flourish.

The remaining matches this Sunday pit FLOW Radcliffe versus Radcliffe Too at Sion Hill and Team Rivals against Keegan’s Bequia XI.

The knock-out national cricket championship features the top four premier division teams matched against the top four in the first division.
