Your grown kids are emotional, financial vampires!

Hey Rosie.

I keep supporting my grown kids and I am so sick and tired of it!  I am especially so fed up with my married daughter and her hubby, who are having baby No 3!

Rosie, I can barely pay my own bills, because I am supporting their household. I want to cut them off… is that wrong?

 Tired Mom

Dear Tired Mom,

Ha! My friend, it is high time for the major CUT!

Unfortunately, these “KIDS” are emotional and financial vampires! You are going to suffer even more, if you don’t stop this now.

I feel so bad for you, but at the same time, only YOU can stop this madness.  If you are going to keep being their safety net, then they will never stop coming to you. You remember that at some point you had to be responsible for you and your own family, right?  Well, this is the lesson that you must gift your offspring at this very moment.

So, the next time they come to you with a hard luck story, you keep your poker face on and say “no”.  It will be hard. I am sure they will use the little ones as an excuse too; but what would they do if you weren’t around?  Pray about it, then take a deep breath… it is the right thing to do.

I wish you all the best; you are actually doing them a favour by teaching them this long overdue lesson.
