Questelles students happy to be back in the classroom
IT HAS BEEN over three weeks since the Grades 3 and 4 students at the Questelles Government School (QGS) lost their classrooms in a fire. Although a few of them are still adapting to their new classrooms, the principal of the School, Donnette Ferdinand says all the students are doing relatively well under the circumstances.
The QGS has a student body of 329, and a staff complement of 22 teachers, including the principal and ancillary staff, but a December 29, 2025 fire engulfed one wing of the school and destroyed it.
The fire left 54 Grade 3 students; 44 students of Grade 4; and six teachers without a classroom.
