Senior Housing assessor detained by police, released without charge
ANOTHER INCIDENT of police involvement in the repossession of building materials being provided to citizens with pressing housing needs has occurred.
On Friday, January 9, 2026, officers in the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force at the Georgetown Police Station reportedly detained Anissia Christopher a senior housing assessor within the Ministry of Housing.
While on vacation leave Christopher is said to have received instructions from her permanent secretary to distribute building materials for occupants of two houses in the South Central Windward area who have been occupying rental accommodation, and needed to be acted upon urgently.
Some of the materials were collected from the Campden Park and Arnos Vale warehouses, respectively, and plywood at North Union.
