30 more Vincentian students awarded Taiwan scholarships

INITIATIVES like the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Taiwan Scholarships, and the International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan-ICDF) Higher Education Scholarships are regarded as helping to bridge gaps in this country’s education system.

Thirty Vincentians are the most recipients of this gap-bridging thrust when last Thursday, August 22, 2025, they were officially announced as the recipients of the 2025 Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Taiwan Scholarships and the International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan- ICDF) Higher Education Scholarships. The students will pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Taiwan.

Speaking at the officially ceremony, Minister of Education, Curtis King, noted that when St Vincent and the Grenadines gained Political Independence in 1979, it inherited quite a large number of gaps in the education system.

He said that from 2001, the government, in an effort to fill the gaps, embarked on programmes to develop the education system.
