West Indies 1975 Test Cricketers granted Vincentian Citizenship, as PM clears the record

PRIME MINISTER, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, has rejected information published online, that he granted citizenship to over 300 foreign nationals in 2019.

The Prime Minister provided information to the contrary, while presenting a Bill in Parliament on Monday, July 28, 2025, to grant Vincentian citizenship to members of the historic 1975 West Indies Cricket Team. He said the false information about him granting citizenship to 352 foreigners in 2019, was published on a website, and also repeated on radio.

“That couldn’t be true, because I know the numbers,” Dr Gonsalves told the House this week.

Upon hearing the information, Dr Gonsalves said he asked his office to provide him with the statistics.
