Campden Park businesswoman dies after being shot

A 62 year old business woman of Campden Park who was shot in front of her place of business on Tuesday evening, July 22, 2025, died one day later at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where she had been taken for treatment.

The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said Bowens, also known as “Ada”, was sitting on the steps outside her business place with a friend when two armed men wearing masks approached and opened fire; this was around 7:22 p.m. Bowens was transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for urgent medical attention. However, efforts by the medical professionals who tried desperately to save her life proved futile and she died on Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025.

The police said in a statement that they are carrying our investigations into this “ brutal and senseless act”, that “ has left a community in mourning and a family grieving”.
