SVG Players takes Junior Band of the Year Title

SVG Players International mas band began competition in VincyMas 2025 on a winning note. Players copped the 2025 Junior Band of the Year title with its presentation ‘ A Tribute to David “Pilling” Pollard’ at Junior Carnival on Saturday, June 28, 2025, dubbed this year “Kiddies Fun Fiesta”.

The mas camp amassed a total of 449 points beating out Blondie Bird & Friends, who placed 2nd with 428 points with their presentation ‘Tribute to Carnival Icons.’

Nelson Bloc came in third with their presentation, ‘Mas Mus Play’ scoring a total of 422 points; and Lynx Mas Band with ‘Riddles’ placed 4th with 412 points.

In the Junior Category aged 5-9, Nelson Bloc placed first on 198 points with a portrayal ‘Angel.’ They tied with SVG Player International who portrayed ‘Africanised Bees’.

Blondie Bird & Friends took the third and fourth spots with their portrayal, ‘Quest in Paradise –Tribute to Lennox “Scully” Hunte, and Ocean Extravaganza –Tribute to Selwyn “Fuzzy” Knights, scoring 196 and 191 points respectively.

In the 10-15 age group, Blondie Bird & Friends placed first with their portrayal ‘Master Craftsman –Tribute to Pilling Pollard’, scoring 192 points.

Second was SVG Players International portraying ‘Messenger’ and ‘King’s Ball’, each camp scoring 186 points. Nelson Bloc’s ‘Thermal Explosion’ placed fourth with 182 points.

The title of 2025 Junior Carnival Band – Mas on the Move went to Nelson Bloc who amassed 221 points. SVG Player International followed with 211 points, while Blondie Bird & Friends placed third on 206 points. Mirage Productions’ “Melange – The Art of Colour” placed fourth scoring 200 points.
