Two Dead in Two Days Gunfire and Machete Violence Rock SVG

A daylight shooting of a Green Hill resident has left many wondering about a possible motive for the killing of the well-known business man who was set to celebrate his birthday later this month.

Stephen King, age 76, was shot at his residence in Green Hill on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 around 12:20 p.m while he was sitting on the front porch of his home.

King owned and operated King-O Appliances, a long-standing business which sold large and small appliances.

Reports are that masked assailants went onto the property, where King lives with his family, and opened fire while he was seated in a chair outside. He was shot multiple times and the assailants fled the scene shortly after. Residents recall hearing as many as 15 gunshots, with several of them striking the elderly man.

King was transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital immediately after the shooting. The family tells SEARCHLIGHT that he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving for medical treatment, sometime around 1:00 p.m.

His family say that the reason why King was targeted by gunmen is a mystery.
