Local DJ dies in motorcycle crash
CONDOLENCES POURED OUT through social media over the weekend when persons heard the news that Keon “DJ Neko” Howe had lost his life as the result of a road accident.
The 27-year-old Chateaubelair resident, known for his disc jockey skills, crashed while riding his motorcycle along the Keartons main road in Barrouallie last Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Howe was transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight last Sunday, August 18, 2024.
DJ Neko’s brother, Chazz Howe, paid tribute to his brother through a Facebook post on Sunday, writing, “Day by day we will let go of this loss, but we will never let go of our love. Rest easy young king.
“I love you kid. Pay me a visit whenever you can bro. I love and miss you, never know you would leave me in all this pain and hurt so soon bro but you gone to a better place only the good ones die young.
“Watch and guide our little sister Cookie. We shall meet on the other side. Rest in perfect peace brother. We love and miss you.”
DJ Neko is the third local disc jockey to die here this year. In March 2024, Camari Daniel Thomas died in a motorcycle accident, while Calvin “DJ CJ” Llewelyn died from medical complications in June.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Howe’s death, and said in a press release on Monday, August 19, 2024, that a post-mortem will be done to ascertain the cause of death.
