Police shoot wanted man in Little Tokyo bus terminal

A man who is the subject of a police wanted bulletin was shot by officers in capital, Kingstown, yesterday March 21, 2024, sometime after 11:00 a.m.

The police said Sjada Daniel of Prospect was shot in the hand as he was fleeing officers in the Little Tokyo bus terminal. Daniel, 31, who was the subject of a police wanted bulletin is currently warded at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

There was a police chase in this area of Little Tokyo bus terminal in Kingstown where wanted man Sjada Daniel was shot in the arm by police.

A notice from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) circulated on March 20, 2024, said that investigations were being conducted into a series of reports of burglaries of which Daniel had been identified as a suspect.

They had warned the public that the 31-year-old labourer is to be approached with caution.

Eye witnesses to the incident told SEARCHLIGHT that police were pursuing the suspect as he ran through the terminal on the side closest to Ace Hardware. While the suspect was in the vicinity of the exit, police fired one shot in his direction.

A string of burglaries occurring in some communities across the island have had Vincentians on edge with increased reports and video footage being circulated on social media in a number of communities including Glen, Cane Garden and Calliaqua.
