SEARCHLIGHT condemns the posting of pornographic material to its breached Facebook page

It has been brought to the attention of SEARCHLIGHT that sexually suggestive and pornographic material is being released on the Facebook platform on a page which carries our publication’s name.

The salacious posts began on the evening of Wednesday March, 6,2024 and continue up to the time of publication of our Weekend Edition.

The Facebook page in question is no longer under the control of Interactive Media Limited, publishers of SEARCHLIGHT Newspaper following a security breach which occurred on January 31, 2024.

As a result of this breach, the company lost administrative and editorial access to the page and has subsequently launched a new page titled Searchlight SVG.

This is the OFFICIAL and ONLY page being used to disseminate news to the public at this time. Readers are urged to follow this new page and unfollow the one which has been compromised.

Efforts to resolve this security breach with META have so far been futile despite repeated attempts to prove ownership of the business page.

Readers are urged to report all social media posts which are sexual in nature or potentially spam. Readers should also take caution not to interact with the page in question via direct messages.
