Vincy Heat draw 1-1 at home with the Bahamas

St Vincent and the Grenadines and the Bahamas played to a 1-1 draw on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, leaving both teams salvaging a single point each in their last 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League League B, Group C match.

Kyle Edwards sent hosts, St Vincent and the Grenadines one goal ahead from the penalty spot in the 60th minute, when Anderson won a penalty in the 58th minute, having been taken down from behind. Edwards converted from the spot sending his shot to the right of the Bahamian goalkeeper.

Minutes later, Marcel Joseph, with a stunning right-foot shot from the left, beat the Vincentian goalkeeper to equalize in the 69th minute. Joseph’s strategy was to try a shot from some distance on the left wing, the ball beat the substitute Vincentian goalkeeper and kissed the post on its way to the back of the net for the equalising goal.

Despite numerous raids on their opponent’s goal, neither side was able to break the deadlock, although hosts, Vincy Heat came agonizingly close on at least four occasions.

St Vincent and the Grenadines remain fourth in their group with 2 points; the Bahamas are third on 4 points; Trinidad and Tobago second on 12 points; and Nicaragua are top of the four-team Group C with 13 points.
