Food store manager dies in crash along Colonarie road

The police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal accident which occurred along the Colonarie public road on Wednesday September 22, that resulted in the death of Damion Pompey, a 37 year old manager of Georgetown.

The incident is said to have occured around 8 in the morning when Pompey was travelling towards Georgetown in his black Nissan Tiida, PX750.

He apparently lost control of the vehicle which ran into a retaining wall.

Pompey, was transported to the Modern Medical Complex at Georgetown where he was later pronounced dead.

Pompey worked with Corea’s for the past 16 years, and was the manager of the Corea’s Distribution Limited’s food store on Canouan.

He should have been heading back to the Southern Grenadine island yesterday, Thursday September 23.
