KPS retakes primary schools’ athletics title
KPS, in another baton change at the top, having trumped in 2015, finished on 284 points.
With strong representation in both genders, the new championsâ total saw the females contributing 149 and the males, 135.
Runners-up, the Buccament Governmentâs tally of 230 points, was amassed mainly by the males, who contributed 139 and the females â 91.
Docking in third was the Stephanie Browne Primary of Union Island on 185 points. It was the females of the Southern Grenadines institution who topped that segment with 159 points, while the males added the other 26.
Rounding out the top five places were the Lowmans Leeward Anglican â fourth with 161 points and fifth was the Questelles Government with 155 points.
Awards
Taking the Victrix Ludorum title was Jeffiesha Ackie of the Questelles Government School, as her 33 points also landed her the 11-15 age group champion.
Topping the females Under-7 were Larrael Durrant of the Diamond Government and Joneillia Alexander of the Stephanie Browne Primary. Both were level on 16 points each when the championships concluded.
Copping the males Under-7 category was Questelles Governmentâs Nazeo Free, who put together 20 points of his own, while Kesiann John of the Barrouallie Anglican, with 24 points clutched the females Under-9 crown.
Shemron Gaymes of the Buccament Government snapped up the males Under-19 title with his 28 points and Gabriella Trudge of the St Maryâs Roman Catholic was the champion of the females Under-11. Trudgeâs account stopped at 30 points.
And, Cody Bartley of the Fitz-Hughes Primary collected the males 11 to 15 age group title, as his 30 points were the most among his competitors.
The championships were held under the tag line, “”One Team, One Spirit, One Goalâ.(RT)
