Ten beauties vie for 2014 Miss Carival crown

The nine overseas participants in the Miss Carival pageant are expected to begin arriving in the country on June 30, in preparation for the pageant which will be held on July 4 at Victoria Park.

St Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented by Shadeisha George, who was crowned Miss SVG 2014 on May 31.{{more}}

Twenty-one-year-old George will come up against Miss Antigua and Barbuda РRaynell Carroll, Miss Barbados РZhan̩ Padmore, Miss Dominica РFrancine Tiffany Baron, Miss Guyana РKiswana Abimola Jefford, Miss Jamaica РDaneille Tamoii Black, Miss Martinique РAlexandra Chastel, Miss St Kitts-Nevis РKaeve Armstrong, Miss St Lucia РAmy Louise Stephen and Miss Venezuela РGenesis Josmarvith Valera Seijas.

Miss Antigua and Barbuda – Raynell Carroll, 20, is an accomplished dancer who has competed successfully in several other pageants, including the 2013 Ms Antigua Queen of Carnival. Raynel presently works with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority and plans to study tourism management.

Zhané Padmore, who will represent Barbados, is the reigning Miss Holetown Queen of the Festival for 2014. At 19, Zhané already has several pageant titles under her belt, including the Miss Easterval Pageant 2012. She is an avid dancer and in her second year at the University of the West Indies, where she is reading for a degree in management.

Miss Dominica – Francine Tiffany Baron is a teacher who holds an Associate Degree in Biology and Psychology from the Dominica State College. She is the reigning Miss Dominica and aspires one day to hold a PhD in Education.

Kiswana Abimola Jefford, Miss Guyana, is a 23-year-old aspiring lawyer who has a passion for the art of dance. Kiswana has participated in many local and regional pageants and has a great interest in fashion.

Twenty-year-old Miss Jamaica – Daneille Tamoii Black aspires to become a corporate attorney at law and journalist. She is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Communication at the University of the Caribbean. She also gives lessons to CSEC Mathematics students who require additional assistance.

Miss Martinique Alexandra Chastel is 20 years old and works with her family, promoting and building a new company based on network marketing reselling organic food and products. She is also a martial artist and takes dance classes. She aspires one day to become an image consultant or a kinesiologist.

Miss Saint Lucia – Amy Louise Stephen is 20 years old and has deep love and passion for music and singing. Amy maintains a strong interest in the arts and hopes that in the near future she will be able to further her studies in the arts. She has participated in two pageants previously.

Twenty-one year old Genesis Josmarvith Valera Seijas is the representative from Venezuela. She is presently a student of Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources at university in Venezuela. She is a trained and experienced model, who has worked with several international designers. She participated in the Miss Easterval 2012 competition.

Miss SVG Shadeisha George is an employee of the Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines and hopes one day to be a diplomat. An avid reader, she intends to pursue studies in International Relations at the University of the West Indies.
