Bodies of ECCAA men recovered in Haiti

The remains of Rosemond James, Director-General, and of Greg McAlpin, Director of Flight Safety of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) have been discovered at the Hotel Montana site in Port-au-Prince Haiti, a release from LIAT on Tuesday, February 23 said.{{more}}

James and McAlpin, who had been in Haiti for a meeting of the Caribbean Aviation Safety and Security Oversight System (CASSOS), had been unaccounted for since the occurrence of an earthquake there on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.

A release from LIAT said “Both of these officials at all times exemplified the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and dedication to the ideals of aviation safety and security, and their passing represents a tremendous loss to the civil aviation community in the Eastern Caribbean.

“We join in extending our sincere condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and work-mates of these two colleagues at this difficult time.”
