The accident occurred sometime around 5:10 pm the said day.

Graham, who was traveling towards Kingstown, told SEARCHLIGHT that the truck he was driving collided with a jeep (PT 325) owned and driven by Burton Thomas of Bridgetown.

Graham said that the jeep lost control before making impact with him.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Graham said that he was still awaiting the results of an X-ray to determine the severity of the injury he received to his right foot.

The other occupant of the truck, Denniston Peters of Stubbs, was taken to the Levi Latham Health Centre in Mesopotamia, where he was treated for the blow he received to his head and discharged.

Up to press time, Thomas was still a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial nursing injuries also to the head.

But Graham says that he believes something ought to be done about the issue of speeding on that particular stretch of road.

“I feel we should put speed limits,” he opined, adding that the authorities needed to put measures in place to deal with the issue.

He told SEARCHLIGHT that he was thankful to be alive and that both men were wearing seatbelts.

The accident took place just over a month after the fatal Old Year’s Day crash which also occurred on the new bypass road.
