PM: Nothing, has been done wrong by anyone in this administration

The issue of the controversial US$1 million believed to have been deposited at the National Commercial Bank (NCB) has surfaced again.{{more}}

This time a question was asked about it in the House of Assembly on Tuesday, January 19th, 2010.

The issue has been dogging Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves since November last year, as the Opposition seeks to find out the source of funds that were allegedly deposited into the Account General’s Account.

Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace kept the issue on the front burner in Tuesday’s sitting of the House by setting it as the first question for the prime minister.

Gonsalves refused to acknowledge having any details of the monies that Eustace alluded to.

“I want to assure this House that nothing, nothing, has been done wrong by anyone in this administration. We do not get sweetheart mortgages from the National Commercial Bank,” said Gonsalves.

He said all he would say on the matter is that monies are put into the NCB on a daily basis by the Government of St.Vincent Grenadines. (HN)
