Police sources say that several persons have been questioned, and key persons, wanted by the police to assist in their investigations, are on the run.

As two masked gunmen allegedly stormed a house in Lowmans Leeward last Thursday, August 9, at around 3 p.m., the ugly cycle of violence again brought pain to families, and left many wondering how many more of the nation’s youths’ lives will be snuffed out so senselessly.

Dead are Javon “John Wayne” Antoine, 20, Ralson Omoro Bowens, 21, (at left below) and Reuben Small, 22 (at right below).

At press time the post mortems on the dead men had not yet been performed, but one man is believed to have received two shots, one to his head and the other to his body. The two other victims reportedly received one shot each to their bodies.

Reports are that after the men were ambushed and shot, two tried to escape and collapsed a short distance down the hill, one at the side of the road.

As family and friends of the deceased wailed in anguish, much comment could be heard among the large crowd gathered.

“Hear she nah, that she son never do nobody nothing, he shoot people already, who she trying to fool,” one lady said, as the mother of one of the men bawled uncontrollably.

Another such comment almost led to blows, as relatives of one of the dead youths challenged a bystander, who they believed was speaking ill about their dead relative.

SEARCHLIGHT understands that police recovered a large quantity of marijuana seeds and a gun at the house where the men were attacked.

One young woman told SEARCHLIGHT that she heard four shots and saw the masked men running up a nearby hill.
