Yambou man charged in the murder of his father

A man from the village of Yambou has been charged with the murder of his father after allegedly striking him in the during a dispute.

Alanzo Corridon appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate, Colin John yesterday, July 3, 2025, where he was charged that on June, 27, 2025 at Yambou with malice aforethought he caused the death of Don Jackson of Yambou by an unlawful act.

Corridon was not allowed to plea to the indictable charge. He was not granted bail and was remanded. The matter is adjourned to August 4, 2025.

Preliminary investigations revealed that at approximately 11:30 a.m. on the date in question, Jackson’s sons were involved in a dispute. Jackson reportedly intervened and was struck with an object to the side of his face. He was subsequently transported to the Levi Latham Health Center and was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
