Mason denies stealing electricity from VINLEC pole

A 53-year-old mason of Richland Park pleaded not guilty to a charge of diverting electricity when he appeared in court on Monday.

Hancell Francis was arrested on January 27, 2024 and charged that without lawful authority, he dishonestly diverted electricity from a St. Vincent Electricity Services (VINLEC) utility pole powerlines to his house.

The offence was allegedly committed on Friday January 26, 2024 about 1:20 pm in Richland Park.

The Kingstown Magistrate Court granted Francis bail in the amount of $1000.00 EC with one surety.

The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Calliaqua Magistrate Court for trial on February 2, 2024.
