Trial starts for man on wounding charges

The trial starts today, December 20 for a labourer from Cane Wood, who pled not guilty to two charges of wounding when he appeared in the Serious Offences Court on Monday, December 19.

Maurice Cupid was charged that on December 16, at Cane wood he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Clyfton Diamond of Coconut Range. He is also charged that on the same date he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Amelia Neverson, also of Cane Wood.

He pleaded not guilty to both of the charges and Chief Magistrate, Rechanne Browne ordered bail in the sum of $2,500 with one surety. The matter is adjourned to December 20, 2022.
